I'd like a website. Where do I start?

Getting a website started is easy. Give us a call at 250-514-2208 or email us at sales@adedia.com. Tell us you'd like a site, and we'll send you an order form. The order form asks some basic details about you and your company. Once we receive your order form, we'll set up a demo site for your review.

How much will a website cost me?

If you've never built a website before, it's hard to know how much you should expect to pay for the features you're getting. Website design can be costly, but because we specialize in sites and features for advisors, we are able to spread our development costs across all our clients. To you, that means we can keep our prices affordable.

We have no hidden fees. The one-time setup fee for a standard advisor website is $500 (+ applicable taxes). Once your site is live, we charge a $35 monthly fee to cover the website hosting, software licensing and basic updates.

Can I pay annually? and what happens if I want to cancel?

Absolutely! We offer a 10% discount to anyone who opts to pay for a year of hosting in advance. We'll hate to see you go, but if you do decide to leave us, let us know before your next billing date, and we'll simply stop charging you.

How do I pay?

You can pay for your site monthly or annually. For monthly payments, we take Visa, Mastercard or pre-authorized debit. If you'd like to pay annually (and take advantage of the 10% discount we offer our annual subscribers), we take Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, PayPal or cheques.

How do I get a domain name?

You have a couple of options when it comes to securing a domain name for your new site.

  1. Let us know your preferred domain name. We'll buy and manage the domain name on your behalf.
  2. You can buy your own domain name from a reputable domain provider. If you need a hand, let us know and we can suggest some companies. Once you've bought your name, simply provide us with the administrative login information, and we'll set up the domain to work with your new website.
  3. You may already have a domain name or you may have an existing website. If that's the case, you'll have to ask your former design company to transfer your domain name back to you.

How much time will it take to set up a new website?

A site with little customization can be up and running after as little as 30 minutes of your time. It takes us between 1 and 10 days to build a simple, professional site; the time required to build your site will depend entirely on your project specifications. After our initial consult, we'll have a better idea of your individual requirements and can provide a detailed timeline.

Will I have to sign a contract? What kind of penalties will I incur if I cancel my site?

We don't ask our clients to sign contracts. Nobody wants to be locked into something. So we charge a simple setup fee when you order your site, then a monthly hosting/licensing fee once your site goes live. If you decide to cancel your site, you can do so any time, no questions asked. We won't charge any type of termination fee, and we'll welcome you back any time.

Will my site be compliant?

If your company has a compliance department, we can work with them, on your behalf, to ensure your website is properly branded, compliant and kept up-to-date.

We have built relationships with several compliance departments - ensuring rapid deployment of sites for advisors with those companies. If, however, we don't have a relationship with your compliance department, don't worry. We're very patient and will happily wait through the compliance process - at no additional charge to you. We will not charge you a monthly licensing fee until your site is given the seal of approval from your compliance department.

If I want to start with a basic site, can I add or change things later?

Absolutely. With our Content Management System, we can quite easily add new pages and features or update the content, graphics and colours used in your site. Your site should be a work in progress, and we encourage you to make changes to keep your site and its content current.

What can I customize?

Your compliance department may provide website guidelines that dictate what can and cannot be customized, but as long as your compliance department approves of a change, there's really no limit to the amount of customization we can perform.

  • Change your website colour scheme
  • Add your logo to the site
  • Add or change banners or photos
  • Add downloadable marketing documents
  • Add personal pages
  • Add or remove content or tools
  • Add testimonials

How can I find out how many people have been to my site?

On the first of each month, we'll send you a detailed analytics report to let you know exactly how many people have been visiting your site.

What happens if I decide to work for another company?

No problem! We'll happily rebrand your site to use the layout, colour scheme, logo and content associated with your new company. Your domain name doesn't have to change (unless you want it to), and we can roll out a brand new site instantly without interrupting your service.

Can I host my site with another provider?

We build our sites with a proprietary Content Management System. Our system is powerful, flexible, and by using it, we're able to keep our prices affordable. But in order to use our system, we have to host all of your website files and content.

You can, however, purchase a domain name from another service provider.

Is there a setup fee?

Yes. We charge a $500 setup fee to most of our clients. Our relationship with some larger financial services companies enables us to waive this fee for some advisors. If you think you may be eligible, give us a call and let us know which company you work with.

Is there a referral program?

Absolutely! We love to hear you've been talking about us. If you've bragged about your site or our service to your colleagues, remind them to mention you on their Signup Form. If they do, we'll send you a cheque for $50. It's our way of saying "Thanks!"

What happens if I want to cancel my site?

We'd hate to see you go, but if you decide to cancel your service, just send us an email. There are no cancellation fees. We'll simply stop charging your monthly subscription and as long as your payments are up-to-date, we will help transfer your domain into its own account. Let us know if you're cancelling or putting the service on hold because if you cancel permanently, we may delete your files after 60 days. If you supplied content for your site and would like to retrieve it, be sure to download it before you cancel your site.
